We are looking for a Brand Marketing Manager with knowledge of japanese to join our dynamic team.

Responsibilities

  • Own marketing for Japan: Act as the single-threaded marketing owner for the region, managing a year-round Japan marketing calendar for the Japanese sub-brand platform while aligning with global strategy and brand direction.
  • Lead hyper-localization: Partner with Product and Design to localize user and performer onboarding, ensuring flows, copy, and positioning are intuitive, trustworthy, and culturally aligned.
  • Develop content and channel strategies for Japan: Shape and execute a cohesive channel plan across LINE OA, X (JP), YouTube, TikTok, note, NicoNico, and other relevant platforms to drive awareness and engagement.
  • Build strategic partnerships: Source, negotiate, and manage collaborations with creators, VTubers, studios, media, and production partners to amplify ’s presence in Japan.
  • Plan and execute localized campaigns: Lead go-to-market efforts for product launches, feature releases, and commercial promotions in Japan, ensuring messaging and activations feel natural to local audiences.
  • Represent Japan within the organization: Act as the primary point of contact for all marketing matters in Japan, ensuring seamless coordination across global Brand, Product, Community, Events, and Trust & Safety teams.
  • Support local events and activations: Collaborate with the global Events and Community teams to maximize ’s presence and impact at trade shows, creator meetups, and industry activations.

Important/challenging tasks:

  • Increased brand awareness and trust within Japan through culturally relevant campaigns and partnerships.
  • Growth in creator sign-ups and retention on the Japanese sub-brand platform.
  • Strong, active relationships with local creators, VTubers, studios, media outlets, and production partners.
  • Improved conversion and trust in Japanese onboarding experiences for users and performers.
  • Seamless integration of global brand strategy with local execution.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in marketing (campaign management, content strategy, product marketing, influencer marketing, brand management, or brand marketing) within Japan, with a track record of delivering successful programs end-to-end.
  • Creative marketing mindset grounded in the Japan market - able to generate fresh, culturally tuned ideas for campaigns, partnerships, and community engagement that resonate deeply with Japanese audiences.
  • Based near Japan with the legal right to work (Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, Phillippines preferred) and comfortable operating as the sole marketing representative in the region, balancing autonomy with global alignment.
  • Native-level Japanese and business English, with the ability to originate, edit, and approve marketing copy that reflects Japanese cultural nuance and platform tone — not just translate existing materials.
  • Hands-on familiarity with Japanese social and creator ecosystems (LINE OA/CRM, X [JP], YouTube, TikTok, note, NicoNico), with an understanding of content formats, platform tone, and engagement patterns.
  • Relationship and partner management experience in Japan, with the ability to source, negotiate, and manage creators, agencies, media, studios, and event organizers.
  • Research and synthesis skills, comfortable auditing competitor experiences and onboarding flows, and turning findings into clear, execution-ready briefs for Product and Design.

Qualification that can be a plus:

  • Proven audience growth in Japan through marketing and influencer partnerships, with concrete examples (co-marketing, creator programs, media tie-ins).
  • Strong relationship builder with an existing network across JP creators, media, agencies, and event organizers.
  • Experience with community-driven or grassroots marketing in Japan (meetups, LINE/Discord communities, fan engagements)
  • Background in the creator economy/VTubers, entertainment, or gaming within the JP market.
  • Familiarity with entertainment events in Japan (trade shows, creator meetups) and how to support them from a marketing standpoint.
